The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG) received funding from Australia under an international development initiative to fund the Transport Sector Support Programme (TSSP). Scope of work for these 2 x projects comprises of permanent and temporary works in connection with the periodic and general maintenance of the Sepik Highway from Wewak through to Yangoru and then Wewak through to Maprik. Activities undertaken are in cycles working with the Engineer for periodic works such as vegetation control, culvert and line drain cleaning and team grading.
General maintenance activities include excavation, formation, subbase pavements, bitumen sealing, drainage construction, road furniture and bridge works. After establishing significant resources, HBS plans to make a permanent presence in the East Sepik through delivering quality infrastructure whilst developing a strong base of reliable local resources for ongoing works. HBS is pleased to be contributing to nation building projects and connecting a more reliable road network to communities in the region.
