Lae School of Nursing Top Town Lae, Morobe

Australia committed funding for the redevelopment of Lae School of Nursing as part of the redevelopment of the Angau Hospital in Lae. The Lae School of Nursing enrols approx. 70 to 100 people per year.

The Lae School of Nursing enrols approximately 70 to 100 people per year and the college is run by the state. Australia committed funding for the redevelopment of Lae School of Nursing as part of the redevelopment of the Angau Hospital in Lae. The upgrades included the construction of a new academic building incorporating a library, conference and practical demonstration spaces, staff administration room and kitchen and dining facilities, as well as the refurbishment of existing classrooms.Due to the confines of the site, the college had to be temporarily relocated to allow teaching to continue whilst building works were undertaken. HBS constructed a temporary solution for classrooms, kitchen, mess, library and staff offices within 8 weeks of project award.

Critical to the client was a timely completion of the project in readiness for 2017 enrolment. Rainy Lae lived up to its reputation with the site receiving more than double the average rainfall during the period of works most susceptible to wet weather. The Project team’s dedication saw additional shifts worked and hours increased to
late at night, ensuring the project was delivered in line with the clients’ expectation.
